Unfortunately, In consultation with our presenting sponsor Coast Capital Savings and many of our partners the board has unanimously and reluctantly come to the decision to cancel the festival for Surrey Pride 2020.
This decision was not an easy one for us to come to, but it was based on the following:
1 Not knowing when all of this will come to an end
2 The safety and security of our community
3 The economic impact this was having on people and businesses
4 Our entertainers
5 The inability to meet and/or coordinate in real time
6 The ongoing extensions of the stay at home policy and physical distancing
It is our hope that we can negotiate the flying of the flags on the Plaza at Central City.
****Update - Central City WILL fly the Pride and Trans Flags on the flagpoles in the Plaza from June 20-27***
We are also researching the feasibility of hosting a virtual Pride festival – if we can figure out the logistics we will make that attempt.
We thank you all for your continued support and we will refund any donations or booth payments if requested.
Surrey Pride would like to remind everyone that this is a family-friendly event, and as such we request that there be no nudity (full or partial) on Central City property.
